FAQs |
Q. Who is eligible to join the Quail Creek MGA?
A. QCMGA membership is open to any male member of the Quail Creek Country Club over 18 years of age.
Q. Who runs the QCMGA?
A. QCMGA is run by a Board of Directors with direction from the Pro Staff and the Golf Committee.
Q. Why was the QCMGA formed?
A. The QCMGA was formed to provide members of Quail Creek County Club with a regular Saturday game and an opportunity to meet and play with other members of the club.
Q. With all the groups already at Quail Creek why do we need a Men's Association?
A. Even with all the groups we have, many members did not have a regular game. This will give them a chance to have a regular game and to meet other members that belong to other groups and hopefully they will be able to have a game whenever they want.
Q. Why do some players play from different tee boxes?
A. As we grow older many of us have lost some yardage from our game. The idea of using different tee boxes is so that those members have a chance to reach the green in regulation and thereby can enjoy the game of golf even more.
Q. Do we get a "Breakfast Ball" when we play in QCMGA events?
A. Your "Breakfast Ball" should be used on the practice range. The QCMGA has adopted the USGA rules of golf for all events and "Breakfast Balls" were not in there.
Q. We usually give short putts. It helps speed up play. Do we have to putt out?
A. Again we could not find a definition of "gimmie" in the USGA rule book. If it really is a "gimmie" you should not have to mark the ball, just tap it in. All scores that count in QCMGA events require that the ball goes to the bottom of the cup. That way everyone is playing the game "exactly" the same way.
